Drinketh of this water

John 4:13-14

The story of Jesus meeting the women at the well is often spoken of in the Church. It is a story that is told over and over, why is that because it is told to tell us that we are to serve where we are at. It has been said that Jesus must needs, and that we must needs as well. We are shown how Jesus knew the Women and her past life and still talked with her. How that the Samaritans were the outcast and that we need to go to the outcast but there is something that I believe is overlooked. It is an important yet simple set of words contained in this lesson. Drinketh of this water. You see Jesus gave the women a choice… Keep doing what you have always done or come to me and I will give you water of everlasting life.

As Scattered Sheep

As Scattered Sheep

Jesus was a busy man, He started he earthly ministry and his calendar was full. He went here to there and back to here before going over there again. Being full of the Spirit He preached healed and mended families and relationships. He spoke to small crowds and larger ones. He taught his followers how to be leaders for the next generation. But one day as recorded in Matthew, he paused……. He looked up and saw a mass amount of people and his heart broke.  Broken from the compassionate weight for the Lost. Interesting point, he didn’t say what he said to the crowd but to His disciples. It is to them that it is recorded for us he said the labors are few. As if to say to them don’t you see! There is more to this ministry thing than one person can do. To reach the world with the Gospel we need more help.
